FIA confirmed today the choice of suppliers for the GEN4 race car, set to debut in Season 13 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in 2026/27.
Formula E’s championship founding mission is to race through the streets of the most iconic cities in the world - with a grid full of the best racing drivers and teams around - to show just what sustainable mobility is capable of, driving electric vehicles to the fore in the race for a better, cleaner future.
Formula E racing cars - all powered by electricity - pave the way for the road cars of tomorrow, with the series acting as a competitive platform to test and develop the latest in electric technology.
The tender process completed by Formula E and the FIA took on thorough analysis of all bids submitted, evaluating in depth the technical specifications of each product as well as a host of supporting aspects.
Together with Podium Advanced Technologies, the other single suppliers selected by FIA are:
Chassis: Spark Racing Technology will continue to supply the chassis to Formula E, as it has done since the championship inception
Front powertrain: Marelli, thereby extending the Italian brand’s longstanding working relationship with the FIA
Tyres: Bridgestone, marking the manufacturer’s return to an FIA World Championship for the first time in a decade-and-a-half
Francesco Monti, Podium Advanced Technologies CEO, commented:
“After securing the supply of battery systems for the MotoE World Championship to Ducati, this latest achievement establishes Podium Advanced Technologies as the premier provider for high-performance battery systems in global motorsport.
We take exceptional pride in winning this tender, as it signifies an extraordinary accomplishment and a substantial recognition of the hard work, dedication, and expertise demonstrated by our entire team.
This achievement is the result of a long journey and is now coming to fruition as a new milestone. The path ahead will be demanding and challenging, yet I am confident that with the same passion and commitment demonstrated thus far, we can confront these challenges and continue to achieve new outstanding milestones.”
